Biomechanical Analysis
Biomechanical Analysis is the study or analysis of how someone moves and can play a crucial role in both injury prevention as well as performance enhancement. It is important for athletes of all ages and skill levels to understand the importance of education to develop proper mechanics.
At Hands On Sports Therapy & Injury Clinic we have a range of Biomechanical Analysis packages to suit your needs whether it's to stop that reoccurring injury or to increasing your performance levels.
Gait Analysis:
Do you often struggle with a reoccurring niggle or always suffer injuries down the same side of the body? This could be due to a muscular imbalance, weakness or biomechanical dysfunction. Aimed at the running population, Gait Analysis is suitable for any level of runner whether you are just starting up or a seasoned marathon runner.
We'll take a good look at the whole body during your running cycle to see what's going on. We'll discuss through your results and let you know what we've found so you'll leave with a full understanding of any problems. We'll also make sure you have a rehabilitation program to work through to correct any problems that may be found.
Postural Assessment:
You put your cars through an MOT every year to ensure they are running properly, why not do this for your body? After all, you only get one and can't afford for it to break down.
At Hands On Sports Therapy & Injury Clinic your Postural Assessment will involve a series of tests and movements designed to give your whole body the once over. We'll look to see if there are any weaknesses or imbalances that could potentially cause problems later down the line. We'll talk you through your results so you understand what's going on and we'll make sure you have a specific rehabilitation program to work on any of the problems.
Functional Movement Analysis:
Are you competitive with your sport and want to take your performance to the next level? Whether you play 2nd row in the rugby scrum or go on your annual ski trip our Functional Movement Analysis is for you.
At Hands On Sports Therapy & Injury Clinic we'll take you through specifically designed tests which identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness. The results from your analysis will generate a score that can be used to track your progress later down the line. We'll make sure you have sport specific and targeted rehabilitation exercises to build on any of the issues that have been found.
Each of our Biomechanical Analysis packages will last in between 60-90 minutes and will involve a certain amount of physical exertion so please bring your running trainers and gym kit with you.
